Perform set mode operations on storage group clone sessions

Clone copy sessions enable you to create clone copies of a source volume or storage group on multiple targets.

Prerequisites

You need the following:
  • A storage group with clone storage group level sessions
  • A clone session in the correct state for a set mode operation
  • See Roles and associated permissions to determine the user roles that can perform this task.

About this task

NOTE: This operation cannot be performed on storage systems running PowerMaxOS 10 (6079).

To perform a set mode operation on a storage group clone session:

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Do one of the following:
      1. Select Protection.
      2. In the Protected Storage Group section, click Clone. The Clone Storage Groups list is displayed.
      3. Select the storage source session on which you want to perform a set mode operation.
      4. Click Set Mode.
      5. Select a clone target session. You can type all or part of the name of the clone target session for which you want to filter.
      1. Select Storage > Storage Groups.
      2. In the Storage Group list, select a target storage group.
      3. In the storage group details, click the number of Clones. The SG All Details screen is displayed with the Data Protection and Clones tabs open.
      4. Click Set Mode.
  3. Optional: To attach session options to the operation, click Advanced Options, and select any number of the available options. Click OK.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Click Run Now to perform the operation now.
    • Expand Run Now, and click Add to Job List to add this task to the job list, from which you can schedule or run the task at your convenience. For more information, see Schedule jobs and Preview jobs.
